The library is one of our favourite places to visit and October is Canadian Library Month. Our friends at the OPL are offering a variety of programs and activities. Check them out next time you check out a book!

October 4: Read with Ranger Kara

Ranger Kara reads Canadian children's books and hosts meet-and-greet autograph session. Participants will receive a copy of her book.

For kids ages 4-11.

October 6-11: Fire Prevention Week

Fire safety Storytime featuring Sparky the Fire Dog.

For kids ages 3-10.

October 13-28: Big Library Read

Big Library Read provides OverDrive partner libraries, including the Ottawa Public Library, free simultaneous access to a selected title that any reader with a Library card can instantly start reading without holds or waitlists.

Free access to the eBook, “Anatomy of a Misfit” by author Andrea Portes.

October 25: Kids’ Lit Café

An interactive and family-friendly celebration showcasing local authors and illustrators of children and teen books. Meet-and-greet, booksale, workshops.
