Ottawa Beaches & Splash Pads Are Open

Wading Pools Are Opening Soon

The City of Ottawa has many places for you and your family to enjoy the water. Each location offers a broad range of fun and athletic programs.

  • 20 indoor pools, nine outdoor pools and three wave pools 
  • 56 wading pools and 127 splash pads
  • Four beaches 

City beaches will have lifeguards from June 15 and and splash pads are now open. Children are to be supervised at all times while using splash pad. here is a staggered start with wading pools. Some open June 27 and some July 2. Click on this link and use the map to see if what is open when.

Here's how you can have a fun, safe water filled summer!

  • Keep children at arms reach of the water.
  • Wear a personal Floating Device.
  • Always supervise kids and at private pool make sure there is a self-latching gate and lock when not in use.
  • Watch your child not your phone. It all too tempting to catch up on emails while the kids play, but it’s important to be vigilant around the water.
  • Swim with a buddy.
  • Stay in a designated swim area at a City beach.
  • Invest in swimming lessons for you and your child. Create strong, confident swimmers.
