October 3, 2019

Fans of young adult fiction, including dystopian literature will be thrilled to hear about Ottawa Public Library’s latest author event for young adults! In Conversation with Veronica Roth and Courtney Summers will take place on Tuesday, October 8, at Queen St. Fare, 170 Queen St.

Enthusiastic YA readers or fans of popular movies will recognize Veronica Roth as the bestselling author of the Divergent series, now major motion pictures. She also penned the Carve the Mark duology. Her latest work, The End and Other Beginnings, is a stunning collection of short stories set in the future. This will be Veronica’s first ever visit to Ottawa!

Courtney Summers is a Canadian critically acclaimed author of several novels and is well known for her unapologetic female protagonists. Her newest novel Sadie is a New York Times Bestseller.

OPL is thrilled to host this free event with two prominent YA authors in their respective genres. The author discussion will be followed by pre-selected audience questions. Members of the public will be able to submit questions for the authors prior to the event, on the OPL website or via social media.

Local independent bookstore Perfect Books will be on hand to sell books by both authors.

Fans of this event should stay tuned for upcoming author events as part of OPL’s 10th annual Teen Author Fest. Teen Author Fest includes author talks and writing workshops where invited authors can connect with readers, fans, and aspiring writers to share ideas and expertise with YA enthusiasts of all stripes.

Do not miss these exciting events for all fans of YA literature!
