A Message from the Publisher

By Sara-Lynne Levine April 16, 2020

Do you know what day it is? Have you had a shower today? If so you may be ahead of me.

This is hard on all of us. Everyone is at home trying to work, learn, eat, get along and stay healthy. Our natural urges tell us to get outside and socialize, but we can't, so we are making adjustments. It's hard and it sucks and there are good days and bad. We are really #allinthistogether.

My kids have been troopers. A schedule, at least during the week is now a suggestion not a rule. Learning is taking place, but it looks and feels very different. Screens are an important way to stay connected and while there are limits, those too have become lax. A good day is one without fights, with a semi-balanced meal and with everyone getting something accomplished. Expectations are kept low.

The good news is, the weather is turning and we are seeing signs of Spring. That doesn't mean rushing to the park, but you can put out deck chairs, sit in the front or the backyard, or on your apartment deck and get some fresh air. Put your face in the sun, close your eyes and breathe. Try it, it feels good!

My only piece of advice is give in to what you are feeling and be kind to yourself. Good enough is good enough. Yes things will suck over the next few weeks, and that's ok. But (and this is super important), you will have moments of amazing that will balance things out. Lean into those moments, live in them and store them in your memories.
