A Note From Your Publisher: You Are Amazing

April 23, 2020

This week, things are getting to me.

As of this writing, the Premier has said the stay at home order may be in place until Victoria Day with schools being amongst the last to re-open. That, for anyone keeping count, means at least another month at home. The weather has been awful and I miss seeing people.

My kids have been amazing, and we have discovered, we really enjoy each other's company, so that's good news. No one really know what day it is, but we are ensuring kids are up dressed, fed, doing some school and keeping some sort of loose schedule during the week. Meals are eaten together, a puzzle sits out for everyone to do and snack abound. The kitchen is the most frequented room in the house and meals have become bigger and more intricate.

School is a challenge. There doesn't seem to be a lot of work sent to the kids, and I'm not sure there is any assessment, but everyone is in the same boat and I assume schools will adjust accordingly when all kids return to class. I''m appreciative of the teachers who are sending work home and checking in. I refuse to criticize or complain, since we are all in the same boat and I'm trying to be positive and not negative, since we really don't know what people are going through at home.

So, while today is hard, cold and blustery, I am giving myself a pat on the back, telling myself I'm doing ok and I'm amazing. If you got up, showered, dressed and put on clothes (extra points for non-elastic waist), then you are amazing too. Let's be kind to ourselves and to each other.

But please, STAY HOME.

Take care,

Sara-Lynne
