The COVID-19 Screening Tool for Students - What you Need to Know

By Katherine Abramenko, RN Ottawa Public Health September 3, 2020

Is your child going back to school?

Ottawa Public Health (OPH) is working with local school boards to help make the return to school as safe as possible. One important way all parents can help make school a bit safer is through active screening. Active screening of children and school employees plays an important role in keeping COVID-19 out of schools by identifying when a child should stay home. By answering a few short questions, you can help do your part in making our schools safer.  Parents and guardians of children going to school are encouraged to complete the COVID-19 screening tool for students every day before school starts. Make it part of your morning routine. You know your child best, so it is important to pay close attention to any changes.

In case your child cannot attend school or becomes ill, have a plan in place. Protecting our community from COVID-19 is our top priority.
