Free up Your Agendas, Children’s Storytimes are Back!

October 15, 2020

Every fall, the Ottawa Public Library looks forward to hosting our littlest patrons and their families for storytimes. This year is no different! They cannot wait to see everyone at their fall storytimes online.

What better way to start the day than with storytime!? Grab some breakfast with the kids and enjoy live stories read by none other than our enthusiastic children’s staff. Along with the best stories around comes fun little songs, rhymes and movements to have the little ones engaged for a full 20 minutes! And with a new and exciting theme each week, storytime gets better and better. So don’t miss out! English storytime will be on at 10 am on Tuesdays; French storytime will be on at 10:30 am on Wednesdays; and if your mornings are too busy, Bilingual storytime will land on Thursdays at 4 pm. Families with littles who are about 6 years old and under will want to click that green button and join in on the fun!

More exciting news! This year OPL is launching a brand-new program: Parent-Baby Connections. It offers a virtual conversation among parents— allowing everyone to exchange thoughts and ideas. So feel free to share stories about raising young children! You’ll also be able to explore easy and fun new ideas for creating unique connections with your baby. Learn songs and rhymes, and explore a variety of new-parent resources with OPL children’s specialists. This program is geared for parents and caregivers of young children, ages 0 to 18 months. Parent-Baby Connection will run on Thursdays at 2:30 pm in English and Wednesdays at 9:30 am in French. Come explore topics such as sleep, nutrition, routine, playtime, movement, communication, milestones, and more!
