Take a trip to Summerland: OPL Virtual Summer Reading Club

By OPL June 30, 2021

The Ottawa Public Library has a ton of programs planned to keep you entertained all summer long. You will have the opportunity to code, dance, cook, draw, discuss your reading, play music and much more. These programs will take place online, on the Zoom platform or our YouTube channel. You will be able to register and find all the details in kids’ section of their website starting June 23 at 10:00 am for the July programs and July 21 at 10:00 am for the August programs.

To kick off the summer with a bang, they'll be hosting two amazing artists. On June 30 at 10:30 am, come hear the stories of Pishu le carcajou from La maison amérindienne (in French only).

You will be able to create your virtual TD Summer Reading Club notebook, on the TD Summer Reading Club website. You will also find jokes, a battle of the books, stories, workshops with authors and illustrators, digital books and more.

In addition, they are pleased to host StoryWalks®, a pilot project of the TD Summer Reading Club. You may see one in your neighborhood. It's a fun activity that involves placing a book page by page on laminated bulletin boards along a path. You can read a book while walking outside with your family!

In the meantime, find your next read with the librarians' favorites list in English and in French.

Registration is now open for the July programs!

Don't forget the registration for the August programs starts on July 21 at 10:00 am!
