Canadian Museum of History- December Events

There are quite a few festive events to check out at the Museum of History this month!

Holiday Hours
Friday, December 24: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Saturday, December 25: CLOSED

As of December 1, proof of vaccination for anyone aged 12 and up will be required to access the exhibitions and all public areas of the Museum, including special events. Proof accepted: vaccination passport or proof of vaccination (digital or printed), as well as ID with name and date of birth.

Lost Liberties – The War Measures Act

Lost Liberties – The War Measures Act probes the fears, racism and crises that drove the suspension of civil liberties in Canada during the First World War, the Second World War and the 1970 October Crisis. 

Gingerbread Invasion!

Our beloved gingerbread characters have invaded the Museum once again, and it’s up to you to find them! Be on the lookout for these tricky holiday treats hiding throughout the Museum. Spot them all, and receive a special surprise.

Come and admire the Museum’s dazzling outdoor tree throughout the holiday season.

Amateur Photography Contest

December 3 to January 9

Take a picture of a luminous object or place that brings you joy during these grey days. Share your photograph on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, with the hashtag #LightsCanMusHistory. The randomly selected winner will receive a $100 gift certificate from the Museum's Gift Shop.
