We love it when we meet like minded people whose goal, like Macaroni Kid, is to provide quality things to do for kids; so we were thrilled to recently meet Mike and Anie from Monkey Around Play & Learn Centre. After spending time playing and chatting, we quickly realized this is a super place for children to visit and also, an wonderful childcare facility.
This unique concept combines a play centre with a learning facility where children can visit and play in their play structure, roller rink, obstacle course and kids corner (or with several stand alone games) or attend toddler, preschool, kindergarten, or early or aftercare in their qualified classrooms. Kids can enjoy the summer months attending a variety of summer camps for children age 4-10.
If you want to Play you can enjoy the clean and spacious recreation area. When we visited, I was impressed with the cleanliness, friendly staff, and various play locations. For younger children this is the perfect place to visit, as it is not overwhelming and loud, but spacious and allows for parents to sit and relax while kids can enjoy.
For those who wish to Learn, the centre provides a variety of classrooms with qualified teachers for children starting at age 18 months. PD Day and school break camps are also available. All programs and operating hours are from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Access to the play centre allows for lots of physical activity.
I was really impressed by how thoughtful the concept was and how well it seems to work. The facility is bright, cheery, and totally kid-friendly while not being overwhelming. Monkey Around has a great security procedure in place, ensuring children and visitors are safe and well cared for. An on-site chef provides healthy and nutritious meals, and caters to gluten free visitors with several gluten free options and healthier choices than other “play places” offer.
Because Mike and Anie are parents, they have the same concerns about quality and safety that other parents have, and the result is a facility that is fun and a step above other play places in town. Of particular note: Monkey Around provides services in both English and French!
