Make leftovers that your family will devour by adding some of the excess candy you gathered when trick or treating to brownie batter for a treat that makes the “Day After Halloween” just as special.
Ingredients
- Your favourite brownie mix plus all ingredients called for on the box instructions (typically oil, water and eggs)
- 1½ - 2 cups of Halloween candy, chopped if needed (chocolate works best – mini candy bars, M&Ms, etc.)
Instructions
- Prepare the brownie mix as instructed. Then add all but about ¼ cup of the chopped candy to the mix. Stir so all the candy is incorporated.
- Bake as instructed, but remove the brownies from the oven approx. 3-5 minutes before the baking time is finished. Sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of candy over the top, pressing it into the brownies slightly, and return to the oven for the remaining 3-5 minutes.
- Remove brownies from the oven and allow to cool completely before cutting.
