Fall Colours are Coming to the Capital

Fall Rhapsody Returns

Head out and admire the beautiful fall colours throughout the Capital Region. From Gatineau Park to the Greenbelt, enjoy the spectacular fall foliage of the region鈥檚 parks, pathways and shorelines.

Hop on a free shuttle for easy access to Gatineau Park鈥檚 most popular destinations. The shuttle will run for the four weekends of Fall Rhapsody 2017:

September 30 and October 1,聽October 7, 8 and 9,聽October 14 and 15, 聽and聽October 21 and 22.

NEW: FREE shuttle from the ByWard Market to Gatineau Park

For Canada鈥檚 150th anniversary, the NCC has added a new departure point in Ottawa鈥檚 ByWard Market. It will link to the Park鈥檚 most popular destinations:聽Pink Lake, the Mackenzie King Estate, King Mountain and Champlain Lookout.

Schedule: From 9 am to 2 pm, the Gatineau Park shuttle will leave every 20 minutes from Sussex-York.

Stops: Des Allumetti猫res-Laurier, St-R茅dempteur-Allard, Terrasses de la Chaudi猫re (OC Transpo connection), Montcalm Station (Rapibus connection) and the South entrance of Gatineau Park (Gatineau Parkway), and will make nine stops along the way: Pink Lake, the Mackenzie King Estate, Waterfall, Lauriault, King Mountain, Bourgeois Lake, Etienne-Br没l茅 Lookout, Champlain Lookout and Huron Lookout.

FREE shuttle from Camp Fortune to the lookouts

Schedule: From 10:30 am to 3 pm, the Camp Fortune鈥揅hamplain Lookout shuttle will run every 15 minutes.

Stops: Keogan Shelter, 脡tienne-Br葪l茅 Lookout, Champlain Lookout and Huron Lookout

When the shuttle is in operation, the southbound lane of Fortune Lake Parkway (heading toward Champlain Lookout) will be closed to all regular traffic (including bicycles) and open exclusively to the Fall Rhapsody shuttle. The northbound lane (heading toward Camp Fortune and Meech Lake) will be open to all traffic.

The shuttle service is a pilot project offered in partnership with the Soci茅t茅 de transport de l鈥橭utaouais (STO) and Camp Fortune.

Fall Rhapsody Special Events

Discover Gatineau Park in a new way, by travelling to the four corners of the Park. Fall Rhapsody will celebrate the magnificent display of colours with a varied program of family activities in partnership with local communities, over three of the four weekends, from September 30 to October 22. Nature interpretation will be available all four weekends at the Champlain Lookout and Pink Lake.

Mackenzie King Estate: Sounds of the Fall, September 30, noon to 4 pm

路聽Shows and presentations from local authors and musicians, including performances from members of the Orchestre symphonique de Gatineau.

Organized by the Association des auteurs et auteures de l鈥橭utaouais, in partnership with the NCC.聽

Cross Loop Road, Meech Creek Valley: Folk Picnic in Meech Creek Valley, October 1, 11 am to 4 pm

路聽聽Historical tools and objects kiosk

路聽Interpretation kiosk on the natural and cultural heritage of the Meech Creek Valley

Luskville Falls: Pontiac Country Fair, October 7 to 9, 10 am to 4 pm

Organized by the Municipality of Pontiac, in partnership with the NCC.

Breton Beach, Philippe Lake: Nature Days, October 14 and 15, 11 am to 4 pm

聽路聽Demonstrations with live small mammals, led by Speaking of Wildlife, and live birds of prey, led by Faucon Educ
