The 34th annual Ottawa Children’s Festival begins in a few days, running May 8-12 at LeBreton Flats Park, with a line up like nothing you’ll find anywhere else. For the last 15 years our ticket price has remained the same - just $13. Consider the price of other family activities in the city…there is no greater bargain! Professional theatre companies from across the globe are excited to introduce you to the magic that is performing arts. Shows that have been curated specifically for the whole family.
Below, you will read about some of the amazing performances and for our final giveaway, you can win a family four pass to the show of your choice (based on ticket availability). To enter to win you must be a Macaroni Kid subscriber. Email me (saralynne@macaronikid.com) with "OCF" in the subject heading. In the email, tell me which show you want to attend. - “They Called her Vivaldi” tells the story of a girl named Cecilia Maria, called Vivaldi for her many musical gifts.
- “FLY” is a puppet theatre drama presenting important life lessons through empathy and a gentle touch of humour.
- “Les Parfaits Inconnus” is an adventure through the circus arts where comedy, acrobatics, imbalance, and juggling come together to the rhythm of live music.
- Let “A MANO”, a little terracotta adventure, take you by the hand and lead you on a journey to a unique little world!
- “Is This a Dagger?” is a humourous, engaging take on a Shakespearian classic - a wonderful introduction to a very wicked tale.
- “Paper Planet” is a beautiful, gentle installation, filled with tall, strange cardboard trees, paper leaves, boulders, birds, and creatures.
- At the heart of “Kaschtanka” are the themes of belonging, loyalty and the importance of family.

- Finger puppet making with Miss Mills and her Puppet Professors

For the second year in a row, Nature Canada will be celebrating Migratory Bird Day at our Festival! On Saturday, May 11, join us for additional activities including bird of prey demonstrations and nature walks.
