By Ottawa Public Library March 4, 2021

March is Francophonie month and an opportunity to join other countries around the world in celebrating not only the French language but also the rich and diverse francophone culture shared by more than 350 million Francophones in 88 countries across five continents.  As the largest French and English bilingual public library in North America, Ottawa Public Library invites Francophones and Francophiles of all ages to enjoy several special programs and explore OPL’s many resources in French this month. Why not seize the opportunity to speak, live, read, write and celebrate in French and join in the following virtual activities:

·       March 20 at 3:30 pm: Live on YouTube, children and their families will be able to have fun with Ariane DesLions' fabulous sound machine and discover the wonderful stories in song.

In addition to these events, be sure to visit the OPL's YouTube channel to discover several series in French, including the Be Active at Home series. Also check out the Library's Facebook page in the Video section to view the latest French-language programs.

What better time than Francophonie Month to discover several online francophone resources such as ToutapprendreGénéalogie Québec, digital and audio books, animated children's books, magazines, newspapers and more!
