The most famous skating spot!
- Cost: Free, keep posted on when it opens and ice conditions here.
- Rentals: Multiple spots along the canal: start of the canal at downtown Ottawa, Fifth Avenue rest area, Dow’s Lake. Reserve in advance for Rideau and Fifth Avenue here
Skate Through A Forest At Patinage En Forets
Skate in Ottawa through a 3km trail through the trees at Patinage En Forets. Click here to buy tickets and also learn about dates where you can skate at night.

Skate Through An Apple Orchard At RiverOak Estates Skating Trail
Skate in Ottawa on a 3km trail through an apple orchard at RiverOak Estate.

Skate Through A Forest At Icelynd
Head to Icelynd Skating Trails, Ottawa’s newest skating adventure. Make sure to purchase a pass in advance.

Skate Through A Maze at Éco-Odyssée
Éco-Odyssée has transformed their water maze into a skating playground. There are 5km of skating trails through the maze, and you can also visit at night.

Skate Through A Forest at Countryside Adventures
The great thing about Countryside Adventures is that you can skate, snowshoe, or cross country ski through their different paths.

Skate Through A Forest At Laurentian Valley Trail in the Ottawa Valley
Glide through the trees on this 1.5km skating trail on Laurentian Valley Skating Trail. You’ll find this trail near Pembroke.

- Hours: Daily 10am-4pm, Night Skates Thursdays and Saturdays from 6pm-9pm

Skate at Historic Rideau Hall
- Address: 1 Sussex Dr, Ottawa
- Hours: Open daily, for a 1.5 hour timeslot between 10 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., by reservation only. Timeslots are available at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m. or 6 p.m.
