Capital Pride cordially invites the incredible youth of The National Capital region to celebrate the end of the school year in style! Join in on the fun at this year’s Pride Prom: The Secret Garden. The event will take place on Friday, June 16th at 7pm in the Horticulture Building (Lansdowne Park). All 2SLGBTQ+ youth and friends in High School (Grades 9 – 12) are welcome to spend a night in celebration! Tickets are FREE but must be reserved online.
The night will feature special live performances, snacks and mocktails! Prom is a staple event for many, marked by dressing your finest and asking a special someone to come as your date. However, for queer youth, this event bears different meaning, as queer folks have been historically unable to dress the way they feel most authentic, nor take the person they truly want due to heteronormative traditions. The Youth Pride Prom is by queer folks, for queer folks. Come as you want, with who you want, and celebrate both Pride Month and Prom in style.
